With over twenty years of experience, Foamex is the world leading supplier of ink jet cartridge wicking material. The typical product is a reticulated fine pore, polyurethane foam that is either felted or compressed during cartridge assembly. The foam functions as a reservoir to consistently deliver ink to the print head and stabilize the ink during head movement. It also serves as a media to control backpressure to prevent either a flood or starvation of ink through the head and aids in consistent, predictable flow on demand.
The consistent and precise cell structure of our foam provides excellent control of capillary action. The physical properties include a totally open skeletal structure, which is both flexible and resilient, a high surface area combined with high void volume for maximum loading capability. Pore size, density and chemistry can be tailored for specific fluid handling requirements.
Our technical service group will work with you to find the foam that fits your needs in ink jet and other fluid handling applications.
